The founders and directors of Circulus bring many years of professional coaching plus senior business experience at Director level across the public, private and voluntary sectors. This includes creating and running a highly acclaimed secondment scheme for the BBC.

We are familiar with the issues organisations face today and we are passionate that Coached Secondments will improve your outcomes.

Our business experience, combined with being Executive Coaches, places us ideally to understand how Coached Secondments can best address your issues.

We have coached people at all levels of seniority including Board members across the private, public and voluntary sectors. We are all accredited coaches. Deryn, in particular, has extensive experience coaching people from a range of different cultural backgrounds. We run coach training programmes and coach supervision.

Deryn Holland

Deryn Holland

Internationally respected for her innovative ideas in putting learning into practice,  Deryn has more than 25 years of diverse experience as a senior leader in the public sector, education and global organisations, including the BBC and the Center for Creative Leadership (USA and Europe). Her experience includes setting up new departments, managing organisation change and creating imaginative development opportunities for individuals, teams and organisations.

As Head of Training and Development for BBC Production, Deryn initiated the highly acclaimed Production Assignment Scheme that annually facilitated the movement of around 100 people across the corporation and outside the BBC.  

Her clients include BBC, Unilever, DfID, Barclays Bank, UNESCO, The MPS, The British Council, Novartis, major charities, local government, national governments, education and the Health Service. 

She has chaired an international charity and written about adult learning and assessment.

Deryn holds a Masters Degree in Continuing Education, the Advanced Diploma in Organisation Development (Columbia) and the MCIPD.

 

Phil Renshaw

Phil Renshaw

Phil has a senior business background including Board appointments. He was an international banker (including secondments to New York and Sydney), corporate financier, and a finance director (20,000 staff and £3 billion annual turnover). Phil found his niche when appointed Head of Organisational Effectiveness in a large complex consortium. He was responsible for creating a unified leadership team and workforce, capable of effective partnering both internally and with its clients.

As a coach, his background and reputation for crossing the divide between those that understand finance and those that can translate it into the wider commercial environment enables him to build rapport quickly with clients at all levels of seniority.

Phil also works in the education sector with several universities, for example as a Visiting Lecturer at Cass Business School and the University of Birmingham.

Phil holds the ACIB (Chartered Institute of Banking), MCT Advanced Diploma (Corporate Treasury) and PGCHE qualifications. He is currently researching into the value of international assignments as his PhD at Cranfield University and has published extensively.

 

Ian Lawson

Ian Lawson

Ian has worked in Leadership development and coaching for over 26 years.  He headed the Leadership campaign at The Work Foundation for 15 years being deeply involved with the recent Outstanding Leadership research report where he designed and ran a successful modular programme taking the findings and translating them into practices which could be adopted by good leaders to lift them into the outstanding leader category, benefitting also their teams and organisations.

Ian has worked across all sectors; major clients include the Metropolitan Police, UK Border Agency, National School of Government, Friends Provident and Flag Communication.  

He is one of the country`s most experienced leaders of residential leadership programmes having run well over 100.  He is on the editorial board of the International Journal for Leadership in Public Services and a non exec on the board of the Army Staff Leadership School. Ian has written 4 leadership books.

 

 

 

Margaret Lloyd

Margaret Lloyd

Margaret is a performance coach and leadership consultant who works with senior teams and Directors on personal and organisational transformation.
A founder member of the Institute of Leadership, associate of The Campaign for Leadership at the Work Foundation and of The School for Coaching, Margaret lectures at and leads Leadership programmes across the public and private sector and coaches and mentors Directors and CEOs on a 1:1 basis.

She is a director of Walking With Leaders, a company specialising in leadership development, performance coaching and strategic change, is Chair of the Directory of Social Change and a Fellow of the Institute of Quality Assurance.

Married with two young adult offspring, Margaret lives in Berkshire with her husband and lists gardening and wine among her hobbies. Her ambition is to run a vineyard in France.
